Amazing value!
A camera slider like this one will add enormous production value to your films. The smooth camera movement of a slider gives a very professional feel that cannot be replicated by any sort of handheld shooting. This slider has a professional build and with care will last for years. There are multiple mounting points on the slider for many options. You can put the slider on a tilt tripod head for slanted movement or mount on end for 90 degree vertical movement.Note: You must mount a tripod head to the carriage in order to use the slider. I use both a fluid head and a ball head on this slider depending on the movement. For horizontal slides, I use the fluid head to pan/tilt for smooth, dynamic shots that again cannot be replicated with any handheld/shoulder rig. For slanted/vertical shots, I use my mini-ball head to keep the camera level at various angles.Keep in mind that this slider is not meant for large, full body video cameras and should be limited to DSLR use. I use it with my GH2's/GH1 so I have extra capabilities to add accessories with weight to spare.Bottom line: Do you research choose the appropriate slider for your needs. Any Konova slider will be amazing! Also, remember that you need a quality tripod head to attach to the carriage in order to use the slider.

Great Gear for the Price
For the price, it's a great slider. Easy to set up and operate. Very adjustable. Has a distance tape on the side so you can see how far you're sliding, which will come in handy for making hand-controlled time lapse slides. I'm looking forward to adding the many attachments that can make it even more versatile. I'm using a Canon 7D Mk II, which weighs about the same as a 5D Mk III. I purchased one of these and tried it with the 7D tilted way down, and I could feel a slight clunk in the bearings as it moved, but it didn't propagate to the image. Nonetheless, I returned it and got a replacement. This one is smoother, but still has a slight feel when weight is toward one side of the rail. It never appears in the image, though. It's definitely a keeper.

SUPER well built! Great Product..!
Buying a Slider in general was a HUGE leap for me. First, I wasn't sure if I'd really use it all that much... Second, if I did, it's use might be limited. For these reasons, I was going to go CHEAP. I looked on Amazon for several days, reading reviews, and had a few options in my cart. After some thought, I decided to take the plunge and buy the Konova K2. Not the K3, but what thought was their more basic model. The minute I opened the package, I knew I'd made the right choice. When products come with a VERY well made bag, I immediately assume that the item must be something special. In this case the theory held true. Even the legs that screw on the ends of the slider had their own pouch. Awesome. The slide is BUTTER SMOOTH, the workmanship is top notch, and the general feel is of something of QUALITY.If you want something that'll last a couple of years, but one of the cheaper options. If you want something that will last 20 years, buy this slider. I couldn't be more impressed!

Great footage—if you're going for the bumpy train look
Maybe I just got a defective slider, but after a year of minimal use (and pristine care) the slider started to have a real chunky feel to it—like being on a train or going over small but annoying potholes on the road. The slider would kind of jerk along the track in a rhythmic but not perfectly consistent pattern, which made the footage unpredictable, rough, and bumpy. After searching for some online tuts (Konova provides nothing) I found a couple of guys on vimeo who offered some thoughts. However, after taking everything apart and cleaning it, I had no luck, and even with IS on my camera lens, I was still getting visible shake from the slider. I've even had guys who are more mechanically-inclined than me—still no luck. I then contacted Konova customer service. The CRS who identified himself as Frank S. got back to me quickly, but didn’t offer much help. Here were his responses:Email 1: “The bearing might has dust or sands in it U need to clean the bearing.”Email 2: “May I get the purchasing information as I just take charge for selling on our site”Final email: “The bearing parts cost 85$ including shipping. Thank u”I am not paying Konova again. I asked Frank, “Why would I want to dump more money into a product that’s already proven defective? If these bearings I have don’t work, what makes you think the others will?” He didn’t respond. To be fair to Konova, I’ve had the slider for just a nudge over a year. However, I’ve taken incredibly good care of it, always kept it in the carrier, and have used it just 7-9 times. But should a $250 product fail after such light use?BOTTOM LINE:Feel free to take a chance on Konova if you want. With no real documentation, solutions, online video tuts, or customer service when the unit fails, you might be sorry you did. If your unit doesn't work, you are crap out of luck.
