A surprisingly awesome hard shell case!
Before settling on this hard shell, I scoured the web for ANY Incase, Speck, and Hard Candy that would fit my new baby, the Retina MacBook Pro. I wanted a name brand for quality, after all. However, when I couldn't find anything in stock (excluding one pink case made by Speck), I found this case on Amazon. At first, I will admit, I was a bit hesitant to buy a case for my new $2,000+ laptop from a brand I'd never heard of. But I gave it a shot anyway. Low and behold, this case is in fact just as good - dare I say BETTER? - than any Speck or Incase hard shell I have put on my old MacBook Pro. Pros: -Easy attachment to the body of the laptop. -Looks great! I personally disagree with the reviewer who doesn't like the four bumps on top of the case - they are hardly even noticeable. -Design does not add much bulk to the laptop itself. In fact, it fits quite easily in to my old Incase sleeve I used for my "old" (2010) MacBook Pro with the case on. -Appears as if it will show fewer scratches than most clear hard-shell cases. If you've ever owned on by Speck, you know how easily these things scratch. However, this case isn't *quite* as clear as Speck's, which will likely make it more conducive to hiding small scratches. -Fold-out legs for convenient desktop use. I've never seen this on a hard shell case before, but I love it! It makes for much easier typing. -Price: for $20, the price point can't be beat. And my case came with a free keyboard cover and stylus. Sure beats paying almost $50 for competitors' products. Cons: -Keyboard cover sticks to display upon opening laptop. This one doesn't relate to the product in question itself; however, if this company is going to include a keyboard cover with its products, it should ensure that it won't stick to the screen. In defense of iPearl, though, many other keyboard covers for the rMBP have similar issues. -Fold-out legs snap back in quite harshly - I've yet to notice any scratches/marks from folding the legs in and out, though I would recommend to any buyers to use caution when doing so to prevent damage to their new shiny Macs. Verdict: -For anyone who doesn't feel like shelling out $50 for a hard shell, this is a great way to protect your new device. In fact, you may never go back those other brands after using this product. Don't be put off by the unknown brand name like I was! You will miss out on a quality hard case. And let's not forget to mention the free extras - a keyboard cover and stylus!

Perfect case for MBP Retina
I wanted a case for my new MacBook Pro Retina 15 and while there are many choices available the iPearl mCover Hard Shell was the perfect one. I wanted a hard case and not a sleeve or cover that would be durable and obviously protect my computer from abuse while not adding extra weight and bulk to the device. This case is perfect for the job. It fits exactly with very tight tolerances to the Retina version of the MacBook Pro while still allowing access to all ports and intake air vents on the sides. I chose the clear version and it shows off the MacBook very well and the plastic is hardly noticeable until looking up close. The Apple logo is clearly visible lit and unlit. This case does not add too much extra weight and bulk which is nice since the Retina version is so much thinner than the previous generation. The case wraps around the edges and corners which is usually the prime location for dings so it is great that it will be protected. The rubber feet give it added traction to a slick surface but there are only two near the front. It would be better if there were rubber feet on all four corners as well as on the retractable feet. The retractable feet are a nice addition to elevate the computer on a desk. Installation was easy enough. The two pieces just snap on to the chassis. Installing the top half for the screen requires a bit of gentle pressure especially since the Retina display is more fragile so don't force the case onto the computer. There is very tight tolerances between the case and chassis and there is not any noticeable movement between the parts. The screen closes flush to the computer so there is no blockage anywhere. Removing the case is a bit more tricky since it is on tight. Like before, just apply gentle pressure but don't force it off. They threw in some extra goodies like a keyboard cover and stylus for touchscreen devices. I haven't used them and this is not a review for them but I will say thank you for the extras. Overall, this case is perfect fit and finish for the MacBook Pro Retina 15 and hopefully will provide superior protection for an expensive device. I definitely recommend this case to anyone who has a MacBook Pro Retina 15 and wants to keep it protected.

An Excellent Product
Excellent quality and perfect fit. Provides a good protection for my MacBook Pro. I previously had a more expensive brand, and was skeptical about ordering this one, but I wanted to give it a try, since the price was less than half compare to the other brand, I have ordered two of them, a black one and a clear one. They both fit very nicely and the black one especially makes my Mac look more unique. When I have the clear one on, you can't even tell that it has a hard shell on, it has a fine pebbly surface, much nicer than my older shiny one, as the shiny surface shows every little scratch. The shell for the bottom is easy to snap on, but as for the shell for the lid, at first it was hard to figure out which end is the top, though if you look at it closely, there is a little arrow on the corner indicating the top. The shell came with a silicon keyboard protector, that is not very useful, as the edges of the keys have hard rims, if you are doing a lot of typing you will find it annoying, as 2 or 3 out of every letter in a word is missed, unless you hit the keys really hard to make sure they are pressed. I keep the keyboard cover on, when I am doing browsing, social networking, working on graphics or photos where there is little typing required, but I remove it when I am typing a letter or a longer correspondence. Never the less it looks great, and it is hard to tell that there is a protector over the keyboard as the keycaps are black with crisp white lettering, matching the MacBook keys exactly, as seen in the photos. Overall, I am really happy with the purchase

Overall great case, I'm glad I bought it.
Definitely a product worth buying! At first I didn't want a case because I liked the look and the feel of the laptop. A few days after I got my computer, I couldn't believe that it had already been scratched. I finally broke down and bought one (I got the clear one). It's a very nice case that doesn't make the computer that much thicker. It's easy to put on and it even comes with a keyboard cover. When the case is on it's hardly noticeable. It comes with 2 little kick stands to elivate the laptop which is a nice feature, I wish they weren't so flimsy though. Some of the reviews mention that the case tends to dig into your wrists, this caused me to be hesitant about buying the case, however, this is only half true. Depending on how you're sitting and how you place your hands, this may or may not happen. It has only happened to me a few times and even though it is annoying, I got used to placing my hands a certain way so this doesn't happen. Another thing that happens is the case gets dirt under it so every now and again you'll have to take it off and clean it. It easily comes off and goes back on again. I am really glad I bought this and the benefits of having the case clearly outweigh the risks of not having one. Summary: Pros: Nice case, Easy to install, Has kickstands, Didn't add a lot of thickness , Protects laptop from scratches Cons: Kickstands are flimsy, Case can scratch up against wrist, Case gets dirty so it has to be taken off periodically to be cleaned Overall I am glad I got this. My laptop doesn't scratch as easily now and I feel better know my laptop is safer with it on. There are only a few things I would change but it's a great case. I definitely recommend buying this, if you just got your computer, I would buy it right away so you don't end up like me with a decent sized scratch on it like I did. When I'm about to buy something I tend to rely on the reviews to help make up my mind so I hope this helps you decide.

Great value, nice looking, with a good seller
After having the very expensive popular name brand case last less than six months before the rear tabs broke off, making it easy for the laptop to slip out of the shell, I needed a different case. (The manufacturer of those did replace the first one under warranty, but when the replacement broke just past six months they told me that "the year was up.") If this case lasts six months only I'm way ahead - way better price. The design at the rear corners is slightly different so I'm hoping that'll make it last longer, and the material itself seems thicker and tougher. ("thicker" being relative... a couple fractions of a fraction of an inch...) I think the blue looks really good, too. The case surface feels like it should be slippery, looks that way, but there's a slight texture there when you pick up the computer with this case on, that makes it feel more secure than your first impression would think. The case fits snugly - snugly enough that putting it on wasn't a breeze, but if it went on effortlessly it'd come off effortlessly. I don't much care for the legs in the back, don't like my keyboard at that angle, but I know others who think it's the best feature. If you don't use the legs, you've got grip on the edge near you but the back is slippery folded plastic legs. I've put a little friction tape on the legs so that the rear holds on too. The keyboard cover is cool, and I really liked it initially, but for some reason it changed the feel enough that I could no longer type as fast, so I'm not using it. My wife took it for her MacBook, though, and loves it. The price is excellent just for the case, so if you also like the cover, consider it a bonus... if you don't, your significant other may like it. I have the iPearl cases on my work MacBook Air 13, and on my 15 inch MacBook Pro Retina, and everything I said above - including how poorly the original cases from another brand held up - apply equally. My Air's case is black, and while the blue looks a lot better (personal opinion), the black fits in nicely with all the other black laptops on the conference tables at work. The seller has been really eager to be helpful, and that's a good thing. Do follow the tips and instructions they send - they're good.

Solid sheer cover for Retina Macbook Pro 15" (2012 model)
I haven't used a hard shell case before, and so it was with some reservations about fit, durability and appearance of the case that I ordered it. I carry around my mac a lot and it has started accumulating those little nicks and bumps from daily use. This case has been nothing but a delight to use. It is a glazed clear case, so that if you put it on the mac, you almost don't notice it. The fit is snug, no loose corners jutting out. Lastly, the lower part of the case has a lot of holes and slits, and when put on, the mac actually sits a few fractions of an inch above the surface due to the small rubber pads. I think this facilitates better ventilation for the underbody, and also lets you keep the laptop on your lap without the hot body touching. Also, the case does not cover the ventilation slits at all, so the mac doesn't run hotter when you put this case on. In summary, I think this is value for money. It doesn't look fancy, but quite sober, and barely noticeable. It does not add a lot of weight to the mac. I, at least, haven't felt any difference carrying the mac around with the hardshell case on. If I had known about this earlier, I would have bought it sooner and avoided the few nicks that my mac got. However, if you don't plan to carry your mac around often, this case probably won't make any difference, unless you want to try the colored versions to color up the mac!

Nice case. Nice price.
Product fit my new MacBook Pro 15" beautifully. The label in the packaging included brief instructions and also a link to a website with a video showing how to attach and remove the case. Other than the demonstrator's pronunciation of "Retina", the video was helpful. At first I was not clear on which way to orient the top shell, but realized that the edge with no clips should be on the hinge side. Included was a keyboard membrane. Also a stylus pen for use with touch-screens -- unrelated to my MacBook, but hey, it was free! I'm not sure the keyboard skin makes sense unless you are leaving the laptop open all the time. When closed, the skin tends to stick to the screen and gets displaced when the screen is lifted. Some descriptions mention that the top shell has nubs in the corners, but mine did not. There are subtle arrows molded into the top shell which should be in the back corners (near the hinge) as you sit in front of the machine with the lid closed. The bottom shell has soft feet under the front corners and folding legs at the back corners. I haven't used the legs yet, but they are a nice feature to add versatility. I've had the case only a short time, so can't comment credibly on its long term durability. It looks strong enough to offer protection from scratches and minor bumps for at least a couple years. I wouldn't expect it to tolerate much in the way of rough handling. I am happy with the case, which is what I wanted. The price was good and it seems unfair to complain about the bonus keyboard skin.

Stylish and Slim, but Durability Falls Short
The computer case looks great, no doubt about it. Its slim profile is perfect for maintaining the sleek design of the laptop, and it doesn’t add any unnecessary bulk. However, the initial excitement didn’t last long. Not too far into using it, the case broke. This was pretty disappointing, especially considering how much I loved the look and feel of it. The breakage happened with normal use, which makes me question the quality of the plastic. It seems like the durability isn’t up to par with the stylish design. While the aesthetics are spot on and the fit is perfect, the fragility of the case is a major downside. If you’re looking for something that’s just for looks and don't mind potentially replacing it sooner than expected, this might still be worth a shot. But if durability is a priority, it might be better to explore other options.
