Green Toys Dish Set - 24 Piece Dishwasher Safe Creative Play Toys for Developing Social Skills in Children. Kitchen Toys

In the past year I decided to make a point to find great eco friendly products to incorporate into various parts of our lifestyle. Switching cleaners and using reusable shopping bags are great, easy ways to make changes but I wasn't so sure about toys. Could there really be great toys that are ecofriendly and fun? When my little girl turned two this fall she was given a repainted hand-me-down play kitchen from some members of our extended family. It's cute and fun but we needed something to play with in the kitchen. Let me just say now that I hate plastic toys in general so I was leaning toward a metal or wood set for the tot when I found the Green Toys dish set. The colors are gorgeous! When I read that not only are these made from recycled milk bottles, they're also made here in the USA I thought for sure they'd be super expensive. Honestly though, in comparison to other sets I looked at they really weren't that much more. I was sold. Lightweight but shocklingly durable this set takes a daily beating from my daughter. They're nice enough that we could use real food in them (Daddy this does not mean I want to find dried Dr. Pepper in the tea cups again!) and dishwasher safe, which I tested. They're the perfect size for toddlers and the colors are just the right grouping to be great for either gender if you care about that sort of thing. The only thing I don't like about these is the forks. They're odd shaped and I can't imagine trying to use the tines for real food. We did have to put all the place settings up since our toddler was running with them in her mouth but during supervised play they're just too cute for words. On the whole the tot and I love this dish set. I feel good knowing these are American made and ecofriendly. I have full intentions to buy many more toys for our kids from Green Toys because even if I wasn't trying to be more environmentally concious these are just well made toys anyway!

Edit: I wrote this review NOV 2018 and it’s now Jan 2021 and these are still going strong. We now have a rough toddler and expecting our fourth and I’m sure these will still be around for them to play with. Truly good quality and long lasting. Definitely recommend Original review: The kids love these! I was looking for a set that wasn't harsh primary colors. These are softer and more pleasant to the eye than many out there. They aren't super girly either wich is great. The size is perfect. They could probably have small snacks if desired. I added the green trays to keep their place settings organized when they play. Dollar store find. And it's actually been a great strategy! They play but they don't get them all over the place. They were so excited to show their dad when he got home from work. He liked it too. Green Toys is always a trustworthy resource to buy kids' toys--but the great thing is that the price on this set was also comparable to similar sets from sources with quality/safety standards I wouldn't trust as much. So I went for it. Love that it's made from recycled milk jugs and is dishwasher safe!! Includes everything to duplicate what grown-ups actually eat with. The colors are gender-neutral and attractive. Also love that the dishes are kind of stylish :)--not just generic clunky plastic but actually well-designed and not bad to look at when the kids have a toy meal set up on the table. They've gotten lots of use out of these already after just a month or two, and nothing has broken (my boys are far from gentle). Highly recommend.

I bought this for my littles' play kitchen and they love it! The quality is great, very sturdy and durable and I love that it is made from recycled milk jugs! It is the perfect size for toddlers and preschoolers. Its very easy to clean and doesn't stain easily (it has been used for almost a year now). It comes with bowls, plates, cups with a single handle, knives, forks, and spoons (4 of all of the mentioned). Great set!!!

I have found from experience that Green Toys make some of the best toys for little kids these days and this dish set is no exception. They are very durable and can withstand lots of play by kids. Our kids have played with this set for about two years now and they are in great shape. They also sometimes use these for real food such as snacks like sliced fruit, cookies, nuts, and potato chips as these are made with food safe plastics. The plastics used in the manufacture of this dish set is high quality and has no funny chemical smells whatsoever upon arrival. The design is great with rounded edges, without any rough spots that can hurt a kid. These are well made toys (and sometimes act as a real dish set) that I can readily recommend. Made in USA.

I love this dish set and so do my 2 and 4 year old boys. Yes the dishes are small, but they are perfect for lots of things. We use the cups for a bit of oj in the morning, or for a bit of juice, water, or soda. It is nice to know that if they do spill their drink, I won't have a whole lot to clean up. The plates are perfect for breakfast...waffles, toast, pancakes, sausage, or any time I am giving them a bit of food. The bowls are actually a good size, and deep, and we use them for lots of foods like cereal, pasta, soup, etc. The knives, forks, and spoons are not really useful, so I will probably just turn them into their play kitchen toys. I am going to have to buy another set for their play kitchen! I highly recommend this set if you are looking for a 'green' alternative to made in China dishware. Don't let their small size deter you. There are plenty of things that they can be used for.

This is a good toy. Bright and colorful and a safer bet than all those "Made in China" toys. I bought it to replace the dish set that came with our Step2 Legacy kitchen. I was hoping that the plates would fit into the plate slots in our toy kitchen, but they do not. The plates are about an inch to a half inch too big. I decided to put the plates in the large red bin that came with the kitchen, since we cannot even get these plates into the cabinets sideways. But we do put the bowls and cups in the cabinets, so at least we are using the cabinets somehow. One other con would be that this dish set is made of a very slick plastic, so "food" slides off the plates very easily and the tiny cups slip out of my fingers often. But still, I am glad I bought it. Beautiful set.

My son loves this little set. I love that it is made from recycled material. I love that the pieces are not just for play but they are thick and durable and can actually be used for eating on. They are a good size (not too small like some play dish sets). The color is true to the photo. I was excited to buy these when they were on sale so they were very affordable, but otherwise a bit pricey, however even at full price I think the quality is worth it!

Esta muy bonito, de excelente calidad. A pesar del uso rudo no se han rayado. Incluso sirven para usar comida caliente. Son seguros y a un precio justo

This is a great quality product which I bought for my grand daughters 6th birthday which she plays with her 2yr old sister. It is extremely durable not like the glass or metal ones you can purchase which if you drop or step on them they break and the best part is that they cannot hurt themselves with it either as it is pretty well unbreakable. They just love it!

Une très belle dinette. Achat fait grâce aux commentaires d'autres acheteurs. Je ne regrette vraiment pas. La qualité est là, la solidité également: une vaisselle toute douce au toucher et à l'oeil avec ses couleurs pastels. Ce qui a plu à ma fille, c'est la taille des objets cela ne faisait pas gadget mais bien une vaisselle d'enfant, ps trop mini mais une taille réaliste (pour exemple, l'assiette fait 15 cms de diamètre). Je recommande, certes un peu cher mais cela vaut le coût et cet article durera sans aucun doute dans le temps.

I’m quite pleased with the Green Toys line. The price tag is often higher than I would ideally like to spend, but I’ll do it for a product that’s not horrible for the environment. They are very sturdy, thick plastic. They’ve held up against my toddler and baby. Unfortunately the cutlery did get bent easily by my son, but he’s young and playing with it harder than intended. I like that the product is made from recycled materials and it has great packaging (why do so many toys have that silly, useless plastic window?). Just recyclable cardboard.
