Perfect Badge Holder!!!
This was exactly what I needed for my badge. We've just gone through a bunch of changes at work in terms of security, and this Frosted Vertical Rigid Plastic Card Dispenser is just what the doctor ordered. Because it is clear and the security officers can see my picture thru the plastic, I have no need to removed my ID for security when I enter the building. And the card readers on the doors read the card without me having to remove it from the holder, which is another plus for me. I do not recommend this for any kind of credit, debit cards, etc. or anything that will need to be removed regularly. This badge holder has 2 little notches on each end for holding the ID in place and they could very well scratch any type of card that has a magnetic strip. This is the best badge holder that I've come across, and I have spent a small fortune trying to find one that is perfect for me and this is it. Please be advised that even though, this badge holder has a thumb notch to assist with removing the item from the holder, it make take a little elbow grease & perhaps a pair of tweezers to assist with the removal and that is fine by me. After the ID has been in the holder for a while it can be a little difficult to remove. Like I said, that is fine by me because I've already lost my ID twice and I had to pony up ten bucks each time for replacement. I have not been disappointed with this item. And what's even better is this item prevents bending. Our badges bend easily and the chip inside can become damaged and the readers will not recognize it if it is bent, so this badge holder is right on. Matter of fact, several of my co-workers have already asked where I got it.

Great, as long as you only put 2 cards in.
I bought this to replace the id holder given to me when I got my TWIC card. I was worried after reading some of the reviews because I need to be able to easily take the TWIC card and safety card out, but it is simple. I currently have 2 cards in it and it's very easy for them to come out to present to security. I found the one that came with the card, but I like this one better. It feels more sturdy and more durable. If you need a good ID card holder this one is great quality. Don't expect to put more than 2 cards in it and it be easy to take them out, that won't happen.

5 years old and still works great, with minor tweaks
I now own two of these to hold 4 badges. I've had the 1st for over 5 years and, while a little scuffed, it remains indestructible. It is intended for one badge only that can be easily removed using the thumb-sized hole in the back and has two small tabs on the back designed to hold pressure on the card to keep it in place. After about 4 years of use those tabs started getting loose (one eventually broke off), and my badge kept falling out. I just put a piece of scotch tape over the side slot and that held everything in place nicely. I also found that after several years, the wording on the back side of my badge that's exposed by the thumb slot was starting to wear off. A little scotch tape on the badge before sliding it back in took care of that. As a few people have said, this can be used to hold two badges. To do so, just pull up on those two plastic tabs on the back until they snap off. The fit is tight (so you don't have to worry about them falling out), but it works. I wouldn't advise it if you have to regularly remove your badge, since it takes a bit of work to get them out when there's two badges in there. One of my badges uses proximity sensors and the other just needs to be visible, so back-to-back in one of these works perfectly for me. Also keep in mind that once you start using it with two badges, even if you manage to get them in there without snapping off the tabs, they'll get so loose that you won't be able to go back to just one badge without it easily sliding out (use my tape trick).

Good hard plastic badge holder
This is the second one of these that I've owned I I bought this one as a replacement to the other that cracked and broke. It broke after years of use and it took a beating. Where my lanyard hangs it puts the badge holder right at the edge of my desk so I was constantly pressing the badge against it, it lasted almost 3 years like this so they are built tough. The holder grabs the I.D. card well and has a rear cut out for your thumb to slide out the badge. No issues with proximity locks if you have a badge that also opens doors. If you want a vertical badge holders these are worth the money.

Best badge holder I have used!
This is the best badge holder I have used so far. The plastic is thick enough where I don't have to worry about it cracking or breaking after using it for a few months, but doesn't add too much bulk. I have tried many where it would start cracking or break after a few months of use. The attachment to my badge reel is usually where they break first for me. It's been almost four months and so far so good. Not even a small crack. It is very easy to slide the ID card in and out of the badge holder if you need to, but I keep my badge in the holder most of the time. It has several different holes to choose depending on if you like to attach it to a badge real, lanyard, etc.

No scratch, no crack!
Been using this since October 2014 and it's now January 2015. After trying a bunch of hard plastic (but flexible) ones, I decided to try the nonflexible case. BEST CASE EVER! it does NOT scratch my very sensitive ID and is easily removed everyday since it has openings for that. The holder is sturdy (there is a metal key chain ring in it), and there are no cracks at all. It only carries 1 card. I do not think it was made for anything thicker than a regular credit card. This is a great product, one that I highly recommend.

I did not like this card holder very much
I did not like this card holder very much. It was very sturdy, and that is why I gave it 3 stars, however it was too tight to hold 2 cards and makes it very hard to get them out, but 1 card was just fine. If you do store two cards in it for any amount of time, it will stretch out the retention thingy that will make it no longer hold 1 card securely.
