Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter
I bought this for my 8-year-old for Halloween. He and his sister wanted to do a theme. I picked Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter because his school doesn't allow "scary costumes" so we thought he could be The Great Emancipator at school and Vampire Hunter at home. I expected the costume to be low-quality costume that one gets for this sort of thing. But I was surprised to find that it was actually nice. The hat is a bit of a one time use thing (which is fine we only really need it for Halloween anyway) I really like the shirt insert and tie. Although I did have to fix the tie a but because it was stringy and loose. The coat is great. The costume doesn't come with pants but a pair of black jeans will look perfect. I'm very happy with our purchase and if how he reacted when we tried it on is any clue Halloween 2016 is going to be a hit!

Great costume for the money
My nephew is obsessed with the presidents, Abraham Lincoln being his favorite. We gave him this costume for his 6th birthday. It was the hit of the party and his favorite gift!! The jacket was much nicer and thicker fabric than I expected. The pants were a little thin but fine(it was July in NC!). I think it runs a little small-I ordered a medium and it fit perfect and he is small for his age. I do wish the beard was included in the costume.

Overall a great-looking costume with nice detailing; fits slim tall kids especially well.
My 10 yo girl decided she just had to be Lincoln for Halloween. Let me save you some time - the costume chain stores do not carry this costume for Halloween. After looking at all the costumes online, we went with this one because the jacket appeared to be more structured and realistic. My girl is 5'1" and is very slim with very long legs. She takes a Target size 14 in leggings and shirts. This costume fits exactly right. So close is this fit that I doubt it will fit in 2 months. The jacket fits so well it looks like it was tailored to her. It looks like a real wool jacket with nice stitching and details. The material is a stiff polyester of some sort, and since my kiddo found it a little itchy, I bought a leotard to go underneath. That solved the problem and keeps her a little warmer. The white shirt is actually a dicky that covers the upper chest and has straps that go under the arms and tie in back. Works great. The neck hole is a little large. The tie is a black ribbon that is holding up really well. The pants...oh, the pants. Think extremely cheap shiny pajama material with no hem. I know many commenters said the pants were way too long for their kids, but they are pretty much the exact right length on my tall girl. You only see the bottom 18" of the pants - I'm sure you have a pair of black leggings or pants to use if you want a more polished look. The good news is that the jacket slides right over the pants, maintaining a nice look when in motion. I bought a really nice hat because other commenters hated on this one, but my daughter prefers the one with the costume. It's very tall. She used the cardboard from the costume packaging to stiffen it up. Overall, this costume was a good value for the cost, and one of the better options out there. I'm very happy with it, and my trick or treater is delighted with the overall look. We found a great, lifelike hairy beard with ear loops (made for a giant head). She refused to wear it, but still looks like Lincoln! No one was confused by this costume, though we parents are still a little puzzled about her choice!

A+ for Honest Abe
Best Halloween Costume EVER (for kids on the skinny side only - the fit is tight)! Good looking. Received tons of compliments. This costume comes with a hat, jacket, pants, and shirt-front: just a collared piece of polyester with a black ribbon neck tie that covers the front of a regular shirt and ties in the back. The jacket is decently constructed, and the pants are basic polyester costume material. The hat comes mooshed up, but I was able to just kind of fluff it out and push on it from the inside until it looked fine. If your are going to wear this costume more than once, I would recommend storing the hat standing up straight rather than folded in a bag, as I think over time it would probably maintain permanent creases. Be advised that this DOES NOT come with a beard. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good looking kids costume.

Good, but not great
First, my son is a big kid. I'm aware of that. The pants were stretchy enough that they fit him without a problem. They would have fit me too had I tried them on. The hat is good, but it's not one size fits all. It fit him pretty tight and needed to be ironed (but that's ok). The shirt is not a full shirt and the tie is loosely fitted. That's ok as well, because it's a costume, not an outfit. Beard not included (FYI). The jacket...fit him pretty tight. It wouldn't close. He's 9 and I ordered the largest child size available. I had to have the seams removed and refitted. Then I bought him a shirt and shoes to match. After that I went by a craft store and bought felt to make him a beard. I'm a Prime member, so I got free shipping, but the costume alone was over $25. So, after all was said and done I spent an additional $20. This was a school project, so I didn't mind spending the money. I just don't think what I received was worth $25.

Costume fits great
My son is 8 years old and we ordered a Medium. It fit him perfect (he is average height). I was worried after reading the other reviews about the pants being too big but everything fit great. The hat however was dead on from the previous reviews. In order to keep it upright the way it should fit we took a black 1/2 size piece of poster board and cut it and wrapped it on the inside of the hat in order to keep the shape and make it stand. I also sprayed starch and ironed the bill around the hat to keep the form. It only took me about 20 minutes to make the revisions to the hat. Other than that we are happy with the purchase & this will make a great costume for his President's Day report!

Fantastic!!
This costume is pretty nice for the price - my son wore it to a dance recital at the community centre and it held up very well while he was a break dancing Abe Lincoln. He wore it again for halloween, the used it sans the beard when he portrayed young Ebenezer Scrooge in a production of The Christmas Carol, and just recently for a talent show when he was the narrator for a fractured fairy tale. It has held up nicely in the wash - the faux shirt needs to be hand washed as the tie is just a satin ribbon and kind of delicate.

Crushed velvet?
The material in the coat and hat has the appearance of crushed velvet. Two tones of black like a dress I wore in the 90s. Suitable maybe for a magician, but not Lincoln. It’s blacker than in my photos due to my phone color adjusting. I do like that the material is thick and the coat would look nice if it didn’t have the weird texture. The hat brim has no shape and can’t be straightened because the material is thick. The photo is from after I tried to straighten it. The pants are made out of the same shiny stretchy material as your usual cheap superhero costume, which is what I expected. The shirt piece goes on like a bib, with Velcro on the neck and tied around the waist. It looks decent once worn, but has exposed serged edges and someone flipped the necktie ribbon when they sewed it on the left side (see photo). My son said it was scratchy around his neck when he tried it on. As other reviewers have noted, it doesn’t come with the beard as pictured, which is technically against Amazon’s policies. And lastly, be aware that size large (12-14) is for 8-10 years old according to the packaging. My 11-year-old is average height and very skinny (less than 80 pounds). The body of the coat fit OK but the sleeves were a bit short. He didn’t even try on the pants. So follow the age sizing, not the number sizing. I will be returning this. We ended up making a hat with black poster board. Black jeans and a white dress shirt, with a ribbon as a bow tie. He wore my women’s size small, long wool coat. The sleeves are a little long, but it looked nicer. The only purchased item was the beard.
