Hosa GFT-526BK 2" x 90' Gaffer Tape, Black

I don't know why the heck gaffer tape is so expensive but considering the options, this tape delivers a pretty good value. It's adhesion quality is what you'd expect from gaffer tape. While it is actually a cloth tape it feels & looks more like non-reflective vinyl. It tears & cuts like cloth but has a smoother finish. I've used it on ceramic tile & carpeting. Unlike cheap duct tape, the Hosa tape does NOT leave sticky residue. All in all I'm pretty happy with it. I'd refer it to a friend & I'll buy it again.

Easy to tear and doesn't leave much residua. When it arrive though, it was crushed a little bit. It's cosmetic and the tape still works just fine, I just wish they packaged it better.

The heading and description called it gaffer tape with no mention of it being a cheap alternative to gaffer tape. I use real (vinyl coated cloth) gaffer tape all the time and this matte finish duct tape is not it. Plus when the roll arrived it had adhesive oozing out one side and dents all around that side, but the blister packaging was not damaged in anyway inside the box so it had to be packaged as defective. I would not recommend this product to someone who is looking for real gaffer tape.

Like another reviewer stated, this is not real gaff tape; it is more like some cheap imitation that is more akin to duck tape than gaff. The tape material feels more of plastic, not the cloth that it should be, and though the description says matte black, because it is plastic it still has a sheen to it. True gaff tape should be a black cloth material with no reflective qualities at all. And of course, this stuff doesn't feel very sticky. Do not buy!

I ordered this for use at work and it works great...will need to get more since I'm running out!

I haven't even used it yet and I'm unimpressed. The rolls I got (2) both had a lot of glue leakage out the sides of the roll. It's to the point that I don't want to put the roll down on anything in case it leaves a sticky residue behind. See photo.The clear plastic wrap on the roll is really difficult to remove also. Took me 5 mins for the first roll. I haven't opened the second yet.There's also ridges in the roll like it's been squished really hard by something, but that's inside the seemingly undamaged outer package so I don't know how it got there.

This is not gaff tape. Its some sort of duct tape. It took some paint off some things, left residue on others. You will have a hard time hiding it in your dark shots, as the surface of tape has a bit of sheen to it, where actual gaff tape has a matte finish.

This tape really is a great alternative to duct tape considering how well it holds and that it leaves no residue. Very strong yet rips relatively easily.
