Lower resistance paddles perfect for pull sets in high mileage training periods
I LOVE these paddles. I am a USMS swimmer training anywhere between 10K and 40K meters per week (depending on my race schedule) and these are hands down my favorite paddles. I've used strokemaster paddles for years, but during recent high mileage weeks found that they were starting to put a lot of stress on my shoulders if I used them for drill and pull sets. These Finis paddles are much closer to the size of my hand and provide just enough additional resistance that I can feel the difference in a pull set, but don't add too much resistance. Compared to my yellow-size strokemaster paddles, the small size in the Finis Agility paddle is only about 1/3 to 1/2 of the resistance. I also like that these are only held on at the thumb. I find them much more comfortable for my hand position over the rubber tubing loop style paddles.I have found one of the main selling points, that the thumb-only attachment requires you to put continuous positive pressure on the paddle throughout your stroke to prevent it from falling off (thereby encouraging proper stroke technique), to be a bit oversold. Most swimmers who are competent enough to incorporate paddles into their workout already have a pretty good continuous pull. Even if you still have a bit of planar break/S style pull through, I don't think you're going to get any special feedback from this paddle. You'd have to have a pretty wobbly pull to actually lose this paddle mid-stroke.Keep your strokemaster paddles for drill sets and use this paddle for lower resistance, improved catch feedback pull sets, especially if you're in an upswing in your training regime....just don't expect it to give you any magical technique feedback if you've already got a reasonably good stroke.

Great Paddles
Bought these a while back, about a year ago. I Really like them. Every stroke is improved using these paddles because if I don't use them correctly they rotate or slide around. Have been using them twice a week during 1,500 yards of a 2,000 yard swim. Was concerned that they would not stay in place but not a problem. Never had one completely slide off. A slight pinch between thumb and bottom of 1st finger holds them in place. Never got any rubbing or blisters from them moving around. I can let them rotate out of the way on my thumb to easily grab the side of the pool. I am 68 years old and bought the mediums. Just the right size even though I am 6' 4" tall. I work out with a real swimmer who is 6' and he also uses the medium size. You will like these paddles!

Very effective
These paddles are great for working on stroke technique. I've tried several other types of paddles over the years and the Finis are by far my favorites. Because they don't have straps, they're much quicker and easier to get on and off, making it simple to alternate repeats of swimming with them and swimming without them. This is a very effective way to help gain that "feel for the water". Also, the fact that they don't have straps means you have to pull correctly so they stay on your hands. With other paddles you can "cheat" a little and the straps keep the paddles on your hands. My advice is to make sure you don't get them too large. I first tried the mediums and they were too big for my hands and were difficult to use effectively. I am a female with small / medium hands and the small paddles fit perfectly.

Quick on and off without missing the start for your next set.
I am a master's swimmer and use these paddles daily for 1/5 of my yardage. They are said to hold the hand in the correct catch position to enable muscle memory as well as provide a little more load on the shoulders for increasing strength there. One thing for sure: if hand position is a little off on entry they will flop around and you will know it and very quickly learn the catch and entry position that works best. The biggest advantage I see is that they are so quick and easy to remove and put on with no fussy straps like the more conventional paddles that my companions use. Some are already coming around to this choice. On the minor downside there are only 3 sizes. I'm not sure the largest size is big enough for some swimmers so measure carefully your palm dimension as directed in the instruction on the Finis website. I'm only 5'11" and use the largest size. Taller swimmers with bigger hands may think them inadequate for the kind of shoulder workout that they want.

Much more efficient and easier to use than strapped paddles
The key is that your catch/pull technique has to be spot on for it to stay with your hand. My technique is nowhere near good, but I was able to use it for awhile. My dad's technique is far better, and I observed that it stayed on his hands during multiple laps. He has been using a set of strapped paddles from the 1970s, but after using the Agility paddles he even acknowledges that they are better. I tried his strapped paddles and it was cumbersome and uncomfortable. The Agility paddles really help you focus on technique and work your arms/shoulders.Overall: 5/5 stars, inexpensive and easy to use - far better than strapped paddles. It is really a better product for advanced swimmers, as it requires good technique.

No more sore fingers
I am a beginning Masters Swimmer and my Coach had advised I should get a flat paddle, such as Strokemakers. They have holes in the paddle so you can feel the water coming through. This is supposed to be better for Beginners. The problem I had with them though was the rubber tubing. It was very painful for my right finger that had previously been broken/dislocated and undergone surgery. The pull was fine.I love the Finis paddles because they have no rubber tubing. They are much more comfortable and they have a good "pull". Initially, the bottom of the thumb cut out bothered me a little but as long as I keep good stroke mechanics they are very comfortable.I have also been able to use them for all strokes. For backstroke I can really feel it in my shoulders so I don't wear them much so I can avoid a shoulder injury.I got the small size. I am 5'3" and have small hands. The height of my hand is 6 1/4" and the paddle is about the same.I would definitely recommend these paddles for people of all abilities.

Great Training Aid
These are exactly as described. I wish I bought them sooner! There's no strap to play around with and I like them much better than the strapped ones. They work perfectly and with the thumb holes you can easily adjust goggles or hang onto the side of the pool between sets without having to fiddle with straps. Just let go of them and they hang on your thumb. If they fall off they float so no big deal. You get feedback as a result on your stroke. If you get tired and loose form you'll feel them slip or wobble which is great to keep you honest on your strokes. I went with second to largest size as I understood these to be a good choice but based on the resistance I get from these I think I would have preferred to have ordered the largest size. Perhaps I'll grab a set of those later on. Overall I really like these compared to ones with straps. I gave a 4 on durability as they're plastic so if you accidentally step on or toss them around in a kit bag I could see them breaking as the plastic is thin but for what they are intended for I'd say they will last.

Trop bien
