I was scrolling through my purchases and Amazon prompted me to review this and the “smell”. So it sent me to the air purifier to confirm/solve a mystery. This is the second pack of these filters I have purchased so I didn’t realize that the strange plasticky or wire coating burn smell near our air purifier might actually be the filter! I checked all my outlets, switches and everything else in the area of the smell and then sniffed the air purifier vent and believe the smell is coming through the unit and is probably the filter. It’s not overwhelming most days but was alarming when I couldn’t figure out what it was
